2004
Antoinette Tijani Alou, the founder’s sister and a noted Professor of French Literature, becomes co-artistic director. Influenced by her subtle creative aura, the MARCELMILLER style embraces a new casual elegance. Antoinette’s extraordinary sense of refinement infuses DREME, the first collection. The world of luxury linens enthusiastically embraces the collection. Iconic home fashion magazine LDB Interiors declares “MARCELMILLER DREME COLLECTION…lives up to its name”.
2007
Illuminated by a burgeoning love of craftsmanship, MARCELMILLER forms a close collaboration with a Co-op of master Peruvian weavers. Eschewing mass production, they painstakingly refine homespun Tanguis Cotton, achieving sublime softness and vintage patina. PUR, the new handmade Eco-cotton collection, is launched. The MARCELMILLER look takes on a fresh Eco-luxury refinement. PUR’s innovation did not go unnoticed, the prestigious Panel of Editors at the venerable New York Gift Show presented PUR with a “Best New Product” award for design innovation and creative use of natural fibers.
2008
A trip to Lucknow India uncovers an incredible new world of inspiration when a chance encounter with a local fabrics dealer leads to the discovery of exquisitely crafted vintage quilts. This vintage find becomes the design inspiration for MARCELMILLER’s new handmade quilts – individually handcrafted in Lucknow, a city famous – even beyond India, for its skilled embroiderers.
2010
MARCELMILLER opens its first showroom at 230 Peachtree Street at the Merchandise Mart in Atlanta on the occasion of the brand’s 10th anniversary. The showroom embodies the spirit of MARCELMILLER. Perpetuated by the creative ambition of its visionary founders, MARCELMILLER is poised to become an iconic luxury label. Each MARCELMILLER creation is, by design, crafted to become a treasured heirloom. Handmade character and timeless style are discernable signatures of the label.
